SusTool
Interreg Baltic Sea Region project
The project SusTool develops a sustainability reporting tool for service and companies in the IT sector that helps better align business performance with sustainability standards.
The context
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) will have to be incorporated into national legislation in all EU member states by 2025. EU law requires certain companies to disclose information on the way they operate and manage environmental, social and governance challenges, in ESG reporting format.
What is the challenge?
Due to the topic being new and multilayered, many companies find it difficult to navigate their effort toward sustainability and understand the specific requirements of the ESG reporting.

Allan Tamme, Head of Innovation and Sustainability at the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications
“The ESG Tool is particularly beneficial in helping companies view reporting requirements as a competitive edge rather than a burden. For ICT companies it’s crucial to embrace practices that reduce environmental impact, such as developing sustainable software designed to minimize energy consumption and digital waste.”
Šarūnas Putrius, TeleSoftas CEO
“Sustainability is a broad concept that encompasses almost all areas of an organization. Therefore, tools and assistance for businesses aiming to measure their sustainability outcomes are very welcome. They save an organization’s time and allow more of that time to be devoted to actual sustainability initiatives rather than tracking them.”
